Listen to ChatGPT like a podcast.
Read Aloud Player turns ChatGPT's Read Aloud into a real audio player: pause and resume, seek, skip and change speed. Every answer you listen to is kept in a library on your own computer, ready to pick up where you stopped.
Free plan available. Pro from $1.99 a month, with a 7-day free trial.
Nothing new to learn.
It works with the Read Aloud button ChatGPT already has. You keep using ChatGPT the way you do today.
Add the extension
Install Read Aloud Player from the Chrome Web Store. It only runs on chatgpt.com.
Press Read Aloud in ChatGPT
Use ChatGPT's own speaker button under any answer, as usual. You need your own ChatGPT account.
Control it and come back later
Pause, skip, change speed. The answer is kept in your library, so you can resume it tomorrow right where you stopped.
Real controls for every answer
Seek anywhere in the answer, even while it is still loading. Jump 15 seconds back or forward, and play or pause from the keyboard.
- Speed from 0.5× to 3×
- Shortcuts: K or Space to play and pause, J and L to skip 15 seconds
Pick up exactly where you left off
Every answer remembers its position. Open the extension, see what you were listening to, and continue with one tap.
Everything you listened to, in one place
Search your recordings, filter by unfinished, favorites or finished, rename them, or open the original chat. Download any recording as an audio file.

Questions, answered plainly.
Do I need a ChatGPT account?
Yes. Read Aloud Player works with the Read Aloud feature on chatgpt.com, so you use your own ChatGPT account, free or paid. The extension does not give you access to ChatGPT.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
Free has every player control and unlimited listening, with up to 3 saved recordings and 10 downloads a day. Pro removes those limits and adds per-recording speed, hiding the player, whole-conversation downloads and library backup.
Where is my audio stored?
On your own computer, inside your browser's storage for the extension. Downloads go to your Downloads folder. We never receive your chats or recordings. Our server only checks your Pro license.
On how many browsers can I use Pro?
Up to 3. To move to a new one, use "Sign out all other browsers and change the key" on the browser you bought with. A browser you removed may keep Pro for up to about 15 minutes.
How do I cancel?
Open the extension's Pro page and choose Manage subscription. Pro stays on until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancel during the free trial and you are not charged.
I lost access to Pro. Who do I contact?
First try Restore by email on the Pro page: we email you a one-time code to type there. If that does not work, email founder@108map.com from the address you used to buy.
Is this an official OpenAI product?
No. Read Aloud Player is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by OpenAI. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI.
